Mark Adamo (b 1962) is an American composer and librettist who first came to prominence with the 1998 première of his début opera Little Women, based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott. Born in Philadelphia, Adamo lives with his husband John Corigliano in New York City where he serves as the principal teacher of American Lyric Theatre’s Composer-Librettist Development Program.
